For time time being I removed the forum policy, so please be brutally honest.

Dead Serious. [set5_b/set5_b/toetap05.gif] This is a film forum for collectors and I need input.

Dan....Well, I don't have a favorite. I started on the 8mm forum and enjoyed that (still do) then signed up for small format and enjoyed that (still do) and now I'm on this one and I enjoy it as well.

I want to be involved in any forum that deals with my hobby. My only complaint is that alot of stuff gets repeated from one to the other. If I post something on one forum I usually don't put it on the others for that reason.

The way these forums have spawned from each other reminds me of the way churches split up into different denominations because of disputes between members. I wish every one could just get along.

That's my input.

Remember Rodney King?

Yes, in an ideal world maybe everyone could get along, but it's not going to happen. There is always going to be a an over ripe apple in the barrel. [set5_b/set5_b/nopity.gif] I'm trying to add some new approaches to this forum, such as friendly moderating and info links and darn good emoticans. [set5_b/set5_b/puke.gif]

Thanks for being candid, Bill. [set5_b/set5_b/hurray.gif]

Yeah...I know people will always have differences. Sorry about the "Rodney King" cliche' :D

Well, I was wandering around the old topics and found this one....

Yes Dan, you're right, there are some bad apples aren't there? Well I enjoy this forum and unfortunately my interest in the others has dropped. But, I enjoyed this hobby long before there was any forum (at least that I knew of) so I'll think I'll go watch some films now!

Bill

Each forum has its merits, the 8mm forum the longest established, so there is a wealth of information on there and is a good place for newbies to research.

Small format forum, being UK based was occasionally a little more relevant to some topics plus a few members would meet up at the BFCC's.
Osigate has since damaged the reputation of both which is a shame.

I like the no nonsense approach of this forum and the leeway it allows members to express an opinion and debate topics without heavy handed censorship. As far as I can recall, only one member has been removed and that was after being given chances to prove his allegations. I understand that person has had a problem on the 16mm forum too. I am a member there but only look in occasionally.

When it was operational, the Silvoscreen forum was very lively and at times was seen by some to be controversial, but I loved it.

The most disappointing forum is the Jubilee Regal. It was good in the early days and had some knowledgeable posters on there. However the treatment the late Peter Booth received from the admin was totally out of order causing myself and a few others to leave. These days it is mostly a trivia based mess, not helped by appalling grammatical errors which render some posts hard to decipher. Mike O'Regan can hopefully back me up on that one.
