Remember Osi Osgood's auctions a couple of months ago where he was selling super 8 features without any reels or cores? He said he was selling them that way because he received them from the person he was selling them for, without reels. He was selling these films for Fred K. Willders. Fred did not know Osi took them off the aluminum Elmo reels. Now Osi has tons of Elmo aluminum reels for sale on Ebay. I thought he said these were damaged in shipment??? [set5_b/set5_b/smilielol5.gif]

Osi, these have been on auction for 2 days now, and I don't see a link to these auctions on Small Format or 8mm Forum.

Empty reels of any kind DO NOT qualify for U.S. Postal Service MEDIA RATE service!
Be aware that postal employees have every right to open any packages to verify that that the contents do qualify....
I know there are a lot of folks who either don't know this, or don't want to know!, but it is cheating....

WHEW--- CLOSE CALL!!!!!!!! For a minute there, I was worried some respected pillar of film collecting was pulling a fast one! Glad to see that very detailed...uh, explanation he offers, for what it's worth. (By the way, I wonder if Fred Willders ever got his "damaged" Elmo reels back from Osi.)
