I've been collecting 16mm for while now ,but I'm looking to get into super 8. I've shot two rolls of super 8 already with my Elmo 1000s but I've only had a viewer to watch them with. So I'm looking for an Elmo ST-1200 to get me started, if anyone has one for sale, just send me a pm.

9/26/11- I won an Elmo 1200HD M-0 with new belts on ebay.

Harrison,

The ST-1200 has the 1200' take up reel option, but if that isn't important for you there are is also the ST-800 and ST-600.

The ST-800 comes in a magnetic version and a mag/optical version. Both ST-800 versions can handle an 800' take up reel. The ST-600 I believe only does magnetic sound and has a 600' take up. Both are great machines.

Well right now I'm bidding on that one with broken belts that I showed you. I will look into getting one of the other models if I don't win though.

Two comments for you Harrison, if you do end up with the unit with broken belts, be sure you get genuine replacement belts for it.

Ebay seller, ISellProjectorBelts, sell "O" rings and other belts that are most of the time near the same size as a lot of standard belts, but are not of proper quality. I found out the hard way...a set of belts I purchased from him rotted after a very short period of time. He uses the cheap stuff that does not hold up to chemicals, in my case sunlight, and not intended to be used as a belt, but only a seal.

Try Steve Osborne (The Reel Image) for the proper Belts. And if you do not get the ebay unit, Steve also has ST-1200's for sale. He has a source for good, low hour units.
937-296-9036 You will have to leave a voice message. He is slow to reply at times because his life has no resting point right now (his mother is in poor health).

I am in the Atlanta area. If you need help installing the belts or cleaning up the inside of the ST-1200, I'll be glad to help.

Well the ebay one is at $202 now and my max on it was $200. I did call Steve Osborne and left him a message on his machine that I was interested in an Elmo ST projector, so I'll see what he has.

Hey, Steve Newton lives in the Atlanta area. I think he may be 16mm though.

There's one on Ebay with all the bells and whistles. It's an ST-1200HD. It plays magnetis and optical sound prints. Magnetic sound will be stereo. Optical will be mono..
