Mark, do you have the original box it came in? What's the time run and the story line?

No box, sorry.

The film starts with The Cure, though i think it's just clips of it. There are scenes from the spa, the invalid or old man drinking in his bed, the three women drinking. I have no camera with which to watch the film

Maybe it's a highlights reel of drinking scenes in Chaplin films ?

What is the width and diameter of the reel? The part you're describing is The Cure. There's no way to know what is on the rest of the film without watching it.

Hi
I've borrowed a Chinon Sound 7000 to play this film and just watched a Youtube video on loading the film. However, the spool hole in the reel isnt large enough for the projector - any advice ?

I was told it was suitable for 8mm film but it's a Super 8 projector.

Back to the drawing board !

Whatever it is you have does not really matter as it scenes from "the cure" from Charlie Chaplin in his Mutual contract days. It is a short film that should run for about 20 to 25 minutes. But a film called "cheers" sounds like a 50 foot 3 minute roll of film to me.

From your picture, it's standard 8mm film. It won't run on a Super 8 projector. You need either a Standard 8 or Dual Guage projector. I presume you will be buying a projector, now you have joined a film forum. It's probably a compilation film, though some companies, like Mountain, in the UK, did sometimes change the title from the original.
