I know there is a websight that tells the entire history of small films for home use but did 9.5 make much of a hit here in the US? I have read about 9.5 but in my entire history of collection have never dealt with it. I have read that it was a decent screening format for home use in the UK but haven't seen anything about it in the US.

In all my years, I've never come across any 9.5 mm film here in the USA.

I understand that there were sound projectors for that format, but they would be so very old now that the amplifiers in them would need a complete overhaul and new capacitors.

Brittish entusiasts converted "modern" 16mm projectors to 9,5. One of my collector friends was at the Blackpool Convention in November this year and watched a 9,5 mm show. He told me that the the Picture as well as the sound was great.

Hi there,

A few years ago someone brought me films to convert to DVD. I thought it was 8mm. After looking it more closely I was looking at something I never seen before. Well it turned out to be 9.5mm. Of course I dont have the equipment but after searching I found someone in Holland who could do it. I am located in Israel. It worked out fine and the quality of the film was almost like todays digital quality. Just could not believe it. The film was shot in Paris France in the year 1923.
On the main boulevards of Paris, walking. I guess the father shot it cause u could see the wife and 3 girls walking in and out of stores and the old cars driving. I am just sorry that I did not make me a copy. It was wonderful.
