Wayne, while I have several digital cameras, including a very nice Sony DSLR, I use a rather primitive Sony Mavica for my screen shots. Primitive, as in floppy disc. The camera has little latitude in settings, but I've been reasonably successful in getting screen grabs. I have a SIX FOOT throw to my projected image, and I have the camera set on auto everything.

I'm still using an HP Photosmart 318 from 2001. I just turn off the flash. I use a tripod too. [set5_b/set5_b/hat.gif]

Yesterday I watched some super 8 sound digests I got recently....

The Formula part 2 - a little faded but in a perfect clamshell case.
Elvis Fun in Acapulco - a worn box but a beautiful print!

Here are some screenshots of the Elvis film I took with my cell phone camera:

The UPS truck today delivered my newest acquisition--an excellent condition print of Castle Films DUCK AND COVER. The film is a beauty with scarcely any wear and complete from opening to end. I've been looking for a nice print for some time, and it was worth the wait. I snapped these shots just this afternoon:

Bill, I have the Fun In Acapulco digest too. The color has really held good as in your screen shots. My print of the super 8 feature of FIA only has fair color.

Chris, that is a classic of the Social Engineering films. What a treat.

I've been spending a lot of time maintaining the humble abode, but tonight am having guests over for a film line-up. This is 16mm. First is TWA's Airline Food from 1959, then Corny Casanovas(3 Stooges), then the feature Pick-up Alley from the 1950s in be-u-tee-full black and white. My most recent screening was a vinigar print I recieved from a friend and thankfully to AMC just got released on DVD. It is Ginger Rogers in Tight Spot. Watched it with a group of friends around my age that can appreciate older films. The film had heavy vinigar stink but I've soaked it in Filmrenew which helped a lot. Still shrinking a bit. Plan to sell this print in my summer list. It is a wonderful film-noir' print of gangster movies. Ginger really played it heavy and it plays out like a stage film. Still it is very long and a wonderful print. 2 1600' reels and one 1200' reel. Also two months ago showed Beyond The Depths. Another vinigar print but not as bad. A WW1 print about the Japanese not waiting for the war to be over. Clean from start to finish with no splices this print played perfect.

Just got done showing a print that I got from Urbanski months ago. Didn't have a machine to show it with until recently. Title was Promises Promises with Jayne Mansfield. Was much racier than I thought it'd be for an R rated production of the time period. Still we all had fun watching it. For the record it was super 8mm sound and a beautiful and very clear and dense Niles Print. Original release date was 1961.

Jayne Mansfield was a very under rated actress in my opinion. I'll watch any of her movies, especially the comedies. The Girl Can't Help It is one my all time favs.

Roger, how did the 3D effect hold up on prints?
