I do not lubricate plastic gears unless there seems to be a problem. If you must, use a synthetic grease (I have stuff from Grainger #6Y763.) Do not use any petroluem based lubrication on the machine.

I use white lithium grease on nylon gears. I think it makes them run quieter. It's also good to use on worm gears. You can purchase it by the tube at hardware stores.
