Found this bad boy at an antique shoppe in Anoka, MN. while visiting family up in the Great White (Brown) North! Just watched both a Regular 8 and a Super 8 and it seems to be working perfectly! It was slow at first but 1/2 way through my Rodan 200ft Ken Films Digest she was up to full speed and runnin' like a champ!

Same projector we had when we were kids! AHHHHHHHH the memories! Dad & new projector are doing fine and the very nice lady at the the shoppe let me have it for TEN BUCKS!!! [set5_b/set5_b/party.gif]

Tim

Excellent find, Tim. Is that a model 456? The garage sales and flea markets will soon be in full force in this area (SE Penna) and I'm looking forward to acquiring a few treasures myself.

Not a yard sale find but my parents oringial B&H 8mm and a dual 8mm. Yes Tim they need love to get going. I could remember my dad giving one a bit of love and the next day he bought a dual 8 cause mom used Super 8 in the camera. I do find that no matter what and how gentile that BLUB in there is going to get back at me .(pop, fizzle ) up here they are 60.00 bucks or more.

Ed, you can do a lamp mod on this projector. If it uses a DJL Lamp 120v 150w, you can install a halogen lamp socket and use 120v 300w halogen lamp instead. Refer to my post about the Kodak Sound 8 mod. You would use that socket and lamp. Total replacement cost about $25.00.

Here is the post:
viewtopic.php?f=8&t=802&hilit=kodak+sound+8+mod&start=10

On your B&H you would have to drill 3 holes in the projector to attach the QLV-1 socket. The two wires could be attached to the 2 projector lamp wires with wire nut connectors. I paid $12 for the new socket and $5 for the new ELH lamp. These lamps have a 50 hour life.

Ed, I bought the QLV-1 socket online. The prices really varied! The ELH lamp I bought at Devine Lighting online for $4.99.

Have a electronic place where I get my sat. parts from if not there will look on line .thanks
took a look inside and yes it will work. If you use a flat or round conectotr on the wire end it should fit in the old bulb socket.

Came across this on youtube. Those aren't your pretty hands in there? Any way compared to some of my restoration this is strait forward.
Does the case fit back over the light when done? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kUfryuOhJ-A

Ed, good find! Gosh, my hands aren't that pretty, but with a little cocoa butter and a time machine, I"ll bet they would be. [set5_b/set5_b/hat.gif]
