I am new to home projectioning and just obtained a Eumig Mark S 801 and have a very basic question. The reel spindles are designed for what I beleive are Super 8 (large) reels and not for the smaller 8 and Super 8 reels of which I have many - the spindle is too big. Does this model have a smaller adapter or must I transfer all of my films onto reels that will fit? Any advice would be appreciated.

Hi, David and welcome to the forum. The 801 is a super 8 only projector. It will not run standard 8mm film. Standard 8mm reels have a smaller hole. Super 8 reels have a larger hole. Is it possible you have some super 8 film on a standard 8 reel?? You can tell the difference between super 8 and std 8 film by looking at the perforations on the side of the film. Std 8mm perfs are larger. I think the take up reel capacity on the 801 is 600'.

Nice machine. [set5_b/set5_b/sifone.gif]
