Just over 170 miles from the Western edge of Sussex, Dan, and Sussex is over 80 miles from west to east. England is actually much larger than you think, and that journey by car (I've done it MANY times) is anything from 4 to 6 hours EACH way. They are only low quality machines (from the picture).

However, Freecycle can be a useful source of bargains; I've found several, sometimes only useful for parts... but it's spare parts that are most difficult to find, isn't it?
