I am so tired of people thinking that DVD Blue Ray will take the place of super 8. This type of thing has been giong on since the advent of VHS. Real film is in a ctegory of it's own as a collectible from the past. It has it's own feel, look, and sound. It's the quest to find the allusive and not so illusive prints that give us the adrenaline rush of satisfaction when found.

Stop the whining and get a grip! [set5_b/set5_b/nopity.gif]

OMG!! Look at this:

s8 Re- RELEASES

Here is a list of some of our older releases on super 8 ( and some 16mm)

They were released some years ago and we have recovered our masters from the UK labs in order that we can re-print some of them if there is a demand.
Many titles were only released in small numbers in the late 80s - early 90s as we were not well known in the 8mm release field for some time, and they are now collectors items in themselves

Here is the list – please tell us if you would be interested in any of them
Please check our sales lists for some titles already in stock

Classic Nostalgia series 1-6 a reel of old cinema ads and a trailer - each reel has a selection of older cinema ads, trailer tags and a vintage trailer Great value full reels.
Rl1 ads Fireball, Kiaora etc and Roy Rogers Trailer 8 mins
Rl2 ads and Batman (1967) trailer..l.o.n.g
Rl3 Metroscopix trailer – From the tray abc– Players – Sid James buys hot dogs

If I'm to be honest I have to say I couldn't care less whether any new 8mm or 16mm prints were ever released again. I understand that they're important to some and well done to those who release them - Wayne, Giosi, CHC or whoever.
My hobby is collecting used prints primarily.
I mainly collect features and a new print is just too expensive for what it is, with the same title possibly available on DVD for a fraction of the price.
That's just me and I respect every collectors individual right to collect new prints if they so wish.
There! I wasn't cynical was I?

In the words of Rudyard Kipling "Without new prints, there would be no used prints".

And wasn't it mark Twain that said "Keep your cotton pickin' hands off my gin" or was it his cousin Ely. [set5_b/set5_b/boxing_smiley.gif]

Well, ya see, Mr Kipling was wrong because there are already used prints. We don need no stinkin' new prints [set5_b/set5_b/coolgleamA.gif]

Ya otta try it on this end Dan. [set5_b/set5_b/willy_nilly.gif] I'm not sure which is worse, keeping it all straight, or taking large cores of film and cutting them into each designated section. Many a times I have to walk away from the rewinds when I can't see straight. [set5_b/set5_b/willy_nilly.gif]

Wayne, I fell your pain. I'll bet it is a labor of love. I think I'll take a look at your list and come up with a few choice prints to order. Thanks [set5_b/set5_b/lurk5.gif]
