Hi there

New to the forum and film in general so please forgive but correct any faux pas. After coming in to some (what were thought to be broken) 8mm projectors and boxes of 8mm home video, I've got one Bell and Howell running somewhat (the other Prinz Magnon is just missing a bulb, another B&H is dangerously 'live').

However, this B&H 625 projector is currently running on rubber-band power, and I can't find out the replacement belt sizes.

It has 2x spring wire belts which seem to work fine but are a bit wonky and I suppose are exactly 60 years old at this point. These are the two belts that connect on to the actual reels through the top of the case, and only one needs to be connected to play forward. The missing belt I think I have deduced was internal, and I am unsure whether it was originally rubber or metal spring.

Would anyone here happen to know what parts I should order? I've tried measuring but the old springs are clearly no longer a useful reference for the intended size. Any ideas appreciated!

Thanks

Hello, Paul, and welcome to the Forum! That is indeed a vintage machine and I recommend contacting "isellprojectorbelts" on eBay. If your belt is not listed, the vendor is most helpful in matching your projector with a replacement. Here is a link to his eBay store: https://www.ebay.com/str/PROJECTOR-BELT ... t=12423948

Try Googling Gordon Ogbourne, he lives in the UK and has lots of B&H spares. I know he has spring belts for the 16mm models, he may be able to help you.
