Picked this projector up recently. Threads 8mm film just fine but the image is "out of sync" as best I can describe it. No single clear frame just a blur of frames (unless I go to still mode) I see no obvious adjustment to use and don't have a user manual for any additional trouble shooting. Thoughts?

Hi Jim,
Welcome to the Forum! I have a feeling your problem is a missing aperture plate, or the aperture plate isn't seated correctly. The plate is the mechanism to hold the film flat as it travels between the lamp and lens. The other possibility is that the claw which pulls the film "down", by engaging the sprockets in the film, is worn or missing. Is it an auto feed projector? (Do you fed the film into a slot and the machine threads itself? It is easier to understand your problem if you would post a photo or two, particularly of the aperture area (between the lamp and lens.)

What is appears to be is the claw, while extending in and out, is not traveling up/down, so I believe it is not moving the film properly through. I verified that with the housing open and the manual film control knob, I can also see there is not a good loop at the bottom.
The film path and claw are clean. Pretty sure it's the claw movement at fault. Problem is, the case is closed with a special headed screw (see pic). I also don;t have a service manual for this so even if I can somehow figure out how to get this open, if's it's more then just dried grease i'm SOL....
