Post subject:  8mm: Digitalization Equipment

Again another desperate measure to preserve my old 8mm movies in case I cannot find an internegative option (to 8mm or to another gauge). Every comment will be welcome.
From my experience, digitalization service providers don’t get their hands dirty dealing with sick movies. They just take good ones, which means: the owner must heal the film first, or digitalize by himself, which directed me to look for equipment.
Considering the resolution (granularity) of a film about 375 lines/mm; and considering the dimensions of 8mm frame: 3.3mm x 4.5mm; So the scanner resolutions should be: 1230 by 1680.
Options in the market:
1. Wolverine MovieMaker 8mm: cheap, but low resolution (720p), so useless. Interesting: I wrote them and asked about low scanner resolution and they told me, amazingly, they start designing the unit to produce 1080p, but the output showed ‘film scratches’, so they dialed back to 720p to ‘produce a smother looking image’. It is like, more or less, to that doctor not looking at the patient's exams to not know his/her actual condition. Now, If you get the best resolution possible, you could, now or in the future (10-50 years), solve the scratches and other problems, but if you don’t…
2. MWA FlashScan 1080p (1920x1080): much better: maybe the minimum cost benefit of choice: I have asked for quotations, but I didn’t succeed yet.
Does anybody have some comments or know about other options?
