I have been having my ELMO ST1200HD M-O projector worked on for over a week now with a problem that can't seem to be solved. Two Techs, one from the US and another from the UK, have been teaming up for the last few days trying to answer the riddle. The machine had lost its sound and there were a number of other problems. The IC plus a few resistors and other parts were replaced and it retained its sound. While repairing the machine the Optical lamp and Track L.E.D lights stopped working. Everything attempted failed to breath life back into either one. The machine was once again put back together and soon will be shipped home. This is a problem that neither of these techs have come across and not been able to correct. Apparently nothing short of another circuit board will bring it back to its previous condition.

Seems like a typical case of Ghost in the machine. Probably you need to call in the Ghostbusters.

I did consider calling an exorcist.

Roger, That's usually the case with the original ST 1200 from 1973. The amps after 43 years are starting to makes noises. I've had two last year that had that problem. Those circuit boards are a bit easier to replace since HD has more involved. I stopped bothering to check resistors, transistors and anything else that may be the culprit to the problem of yours. Much easier to get the entire circuit board and replace. A few screws and unsoldering two or three wires takes up a lot less time. Someone will have parts at your disposal if you wish to go that route. I have a 1200 D parts machine but you can't use that board otherwise you would get the 2-track and stereo effect.
