In the U.S., did local reading libraries rent out Super 8 prints?

I'm really not sure, Mike. I don't know very much about this subject. Maybe someone on the forum has some info on this.

Ramnish,

Would you have any library cards that came with your films?

Libraries loaned out 8mm movies. I have many Blackhawks that are ex library and they are in pretty good shape considering they were loaned out. Many still have the checkout cards still attached. The original boxes are shot though.

Hi Bill,

Love those cards. Collecting them sounds like fun.

Roger, none came with library cards. However a library sticker has been placed with a library stamp on the box/ cover of these 8mm films. I purchased the films on eBay. I'll try and upload a few pics showing the library sticker.

Yes, collecting library owned films with their lending cards does add value to the film/ collection.

I have heard the problem with the Chinon projectors was the plastic filmgate. Apparently it did not hold up well.

I buy Chinons only because Elmos are always so darned expensive. There's always a plentiful selection of Chinons on Ebay for a decent price. I've owned several over the years and fortunately I've had no issues. Only binned them because the sound heads wore out.
