Hello,

I'd like to ask a question to you film experts (which I'm not) about the following. Below animation shows 5 subsequent frames from an 8mm film. As you can see there's some kind of 'flash' in the 3rd frame. I'd like to ask: is there anything, any action with the camera or whatever that could have caused this flash, other then an actual flash during the recording of this film?

Simon, welcome to the Forum! Your question is a good one, and I ask you is this consistent throughout the film?
I am not an expert, but wonder if it could have been done in the original photography (is this a cartoon, stop-motion, etc.) or maybe in the printing process.

This is an old film from the 1970s, from an outside environment. This flash doesn't happen throughout the movie, but only once. It could have been caused by an actual flash during filming, but I'd like to exclude the possibility that it has to do with the filming process itself. Like a malfunction, stop/start of filming or whatever. But I hardly know anything about filming, so I'd like the opinion of some experts :-)
