Post subject:  Help with a light meter for Double 8 filming

Hello,

I hope someone can help.

I recently purchased a Lenigrad number 4 light-meter to help with my Bell and Howell 414 movie camera on manual mode. The light meter responds well and works, but the instructions are not very clearly (badly translated English)

If for example the needle at the top was between the numbers 8/9 for 200 ASA film, do I move the red segment at the bottom so the arrow pointing down is between 8/9 in order to get my reading? this was not very clear in the instructions.

Also I am intending to shoot some 200 ASA Kodak Tri-X Double 8 Black and White film in the B&H 414 for a WWII re-enactment weekend I'm attending. I was wondering if this light meter doesn't really work out what kind of Apertures (within reasons of course) would get me adequate footage?

Firstly (For Bright sunlight)
For a cloudy overcast day
and finally for extremely dull weather
Personally I was thinking of using an Aperture of about f/15 or 16 if the day was very bright and sunny or would this be too much and underexpose?

Thanks very much,

Ryan
