Isn't this similar to the Sankyo 500/700/800 series?

How does it compare to the Sankyo? I realise that the 800 is a stereo machine; I had one myself for a few months.

I notice a few UK dealers selling them at a high price.

Mike,

The Bell & Howell DCT is virtually the same as the Sankyo 800 Stereo (it was made by Sankyo for Bell & Howell), all that's really missing is the built in stereo amplifier, but the DCT has 2 direct line outs, so all you have to do is connect the machine to a stereo amplifier (or the like, these days!) and you've got stereo playback. I really rate these machines (I use one for checking my films for listing). and they have one of the best ever loading mechanisms on any projector in my opinion, and what's more they are RELIABLE. This is why they command a high price, the easy loading of film, the stereo capabilities, and the reliability of the actual machine, if only they had a swing out gate, they would be on a par with the dearer Elmo projectors.

What differences are there between the DCT and DCR models?

Both the DCM & DCR models are 600' reel capacity and single track machines whereas the DCT is an 800' Twin Track projector.
