This question may have arose already but does everyone remember their very first film they've received? Birthday gift; general gift; spoiled kid; painting a fence, whatever? I presume most began standard 8mm silent? Mine were three Castle Films monsters in super 8 silent since in 1976 (I was 10) standard 8mm weren't being produced by that time. They were $6.99 each which was hefty at that time for 10 minutes on 18 FPS... John |

My first film that wasn't my own was a 16mm B&W teaser trailer for THE BIRDS and a random scene from some old Disney movie with some guy putting some weird contraption on his head and reading other peoples minds! I can't remember the title. This was back in the mid '90's. The first commercially produced super 8 film was THE JETSONS TEST PILOT 200' B&W silent in the original box. This was in 2004. Things have snowballed since then.....!!! Bill |

I was 8 years old and received a Christmas present of a Brumberger hand cranked projector and two Castle headline Regular 8mm editions: a Woody Woodpecker and an Oswald cartoon. No, these aren't the original boxes I had as a kid, but they look the same.
