Hi all,

I have a Sankyo 600 which stop working the other week, as in it would not run forwards or reverse even though selector knob would click to right spot, unit still was able to project light and sound.

After some work on it, I was able to check its motor was okay as I ran the two wires for motor to a 9volt battery and motor turned.

This unit has a circuit board in top right corner looking from behind which I believe is related to speed control, as it has two pots on it which one can make projector go faster to slower on either 24 or 18fps.
The blue and white wire which I have traced from Main PCB and then to a smaller circuit board which has a limit micro switch behind it, right behind selector knob, then from there the two wires got to the motor.
I multi meter things. On that board where speed control is, those blue and white wires output around 51 to 56volts, but when I test the terminals for them on the smaller board behind micro switch, I get only 0.43volts, when selector knob is in fwd. or rev position, when it is on stop, I get zero volts.

Any suggestions what could be causing this loss of power?

Micro switch? Or the board itself?

I've included a picture of where board and switch is, one can make out the make etc. of switch.

Thanks in advance

Posting my own reply for benefit of other members.

Problem with my Sankyo turned out to be a transistor and something else on the Speed Control Board, which sits in top right corner of unit as you look at it from behind, it supplies power to the two micro switches which the selector knob operate and then onto a smaller PCB which sends power to Motor.

Hope this may help someone.

Phil
