Hi all, hopefully the more clever members than me can help with this one. My Sankyo 600 is playing up, last night I was running a film for about 12 mins and it just stopped, power to unit was okay as bulb lights up, still has sound, but putting it on forward or reverse nothing happened.
I left it overnight unplugged and ran it today without any film and it seemed to be okay, now I try again now and it ran for a few minutes (no film) and stopped again. Hmm, when it ran today it sounded and ran okay, speed changed from 18 to 24 no problems. Now I just left it on forward without projection on and it started again and now has stopped again. To me it seems something is shorting out or failing.
I tried different power cable and power point. No change.
What should I look for inside back of machine as I guess something in there is playing up.

Thanks in advance
Phil

Inside view of rear of projector attached to post. I have checked connections to best of my knowledge, nothing seems loose or dry soldered is something I read can cause this.

Paul, with back off, plug the power cord in and run it with a junk(test) film while looking in the back of the projector. When the film stops turning look to see if the motor has stopped or is still turning.

Hi Dan, thanks for reply and suggestion.

Cannot do that now, as it will not run as in forward, reverse etc. Unit still has power to Bulb, Sound etc. but the Drive motor where belt attaches to rear, might not be getting power or it could be from my readings maybe a micro switch with a Lug behind the sector knob, not even sure how to get access to that yet, could it be a problem?

I have an old Alt Meter tester not sure how to use it, belongs to my brother and he doesn't know, it is an Analog one by Hioki. Just interested if these wires are getting power at end where they connect to motor.

Thanks again

Phil
