I sent of my booking form today after a chat with Ged at Derann, he said bookings were a little slow for the evening meal and dealers for the main Sunday convention, but as he pointed out to me it's only 3 months now to the Convention weekend, so to guarantee a place (and Hotel if needed) collectors should really be thinking of booking now, to avoid the last minute rush (and disappontments if rooms have gone etc.). Well I know my place is safe now (and I'm late in booking myself this year), and now starting to really look forward to it, so if you're a regular or a newbie, then get thos booking forms in, as there are not many events like this now, and we must try and support them for there survival.

Is the economical turn down taking it's toll on film collecting in the UK? it has certainly made a big dent here in the US. The cost gas is sky rocketing here in the US, which would make it cheaper to fly to an event rather than drive, if you can stand the molesting at the airports. [set5_b/set5_b/beatdeadhorse5.gif]

Dear Dan,

Sorry for not responding sooner, been having trouble logging in (I've got a new password now, so should be OK), sales are generally a lot slower at the moment, but this is the worst time for dealers, the Summer and it's light nights, I always say that the '8mm Season' is really between September to May, that's why I always have a big Summer Sale, it helps get me through the slower months.

Mind you if there is a film someone really wants, they seem to find the money from somewhere, and I'm regularly surprised at what sells straight away and what doesn't.

But as we are well into August now, only a few more weeks before that September start (well here's hoping anyway!), and the darker "Film" nights.

So if there's anything on my current lists anyone wants, then have a look, as this will be the last list this year with the current 30% & 50% discounts on old stock 8mm films.
