Hello everyone. I have come into posession of 5 8mm movies from the 1940s/50s. I have no idea whats on them and i'm eager to find out as they're 5 7inch reels.

HOWEVER, my projector cant house the reels because the holes in the 8mm reels arent circular like most reels. These ones are 3 slits instead. Anyone know why this is? The reels are metal and not plastic.

- Mark

The one on the left is what im referring to, the one on the right is the type of reel im used to.
My projector (Hanimex Loadmatic 924) doesnt have the right holder for it.

Mark, the one on the left fits a standard 8mm projector spindle. The one on the right fits a super 8 projector. Standard 8 film has smaller perforations or sprokect holes and will not play on a super 8 projector.

Thanks Dan

The projector is a dual projector though, plays Super 8 and Standard 8mm. Tsk... i'll have to find a way around this.

Check for a removable adapter on the supply reel. [set5_b/set5_b/cheers2.gif]
