I just bought an Elmo GS 1200 that the main motor is dead.There is positive voltage of 38 volts on both terminals to frame,but nothing across them.Everthing else works including the fan motor.Can anybody help,please?By the way,the ESS switch is the normal position

Hi Marino,

The good news is your motor probably isn't dead. If you are measuring the same voltage on both sides of the motor it is likely something, somewhere is disconnected.

back again Dan,I found 3 diodes on the main board including a resistor that suffered a lot of heat.I would say burnt out.I am not sure the value of the resistor,as it is really discolored.very dificult to get to them without removing the main board,but I'll try.
continuing the saga........

many thanks mate,now I have something to work with,although still can't find the value of the resistor accross the 3 diodes.Does anybody know what it is? [set5_b/set5_b/smash.gif]
