Derann were usually released on 600ft reels in my experience.

Thanks to Mike and Erik. Seems like I might have a pirate or other dupe. Anyway the print doesn't live up to the usual quality I have seen from Blackhawk.

On that note I am going to check out a print of "Sunrise" tonight that I am sure is an authentic Blackhawk- I'll report back!

Quick extra after reading Mike's last entry - very few of the super 8 prints I own come in their original configuration reel wise or with the original boxes - they have gone through various assemblies their earlier owners have preferred for whatever reasons.

As an extreme example a well known poster on most of these related forums told me of a Derann print of "The Curse of Frankenstein" that someone offered for sale that they had "edited" to fit onto a 1200 foot reel. Don't know what happened to the rest of the footage!

Cheers - GT

Thanks Mike, I've only dealt with Derran trailers so small reels each. Haven't had any of their features but have been offered a few and they usually have been assembled on larger reels. Edited print on a 1200' reel really? I don't get why anyone would think they had the filmaker's intentions in mind to edit a print. Normally we try to include every inch of film that was originally released.
