I'm hoping to make it to my first CineSea Film Collectors Convention April 27th and 28th in Wildwood, N.J., and I was wondering if anyone else from this Forum is planning to attend....

I'm glad you are joining in. Part of the fun of it is meeting someone three-dimensionally that you've only met in a discussion forum up until then.

I actually bought two films from Gary Crawford before I found out who he was!

The film show Saturday night is a blast! It's alternating 16mm and Super-8 until at least midnight.

It's lightly seasoned with Super-8 footage shot by yours truly!

If you are a regular on the various film forums I can guarantee you know a number of the guys in the video by name. If you come to the weekend you can get to know them in person too.

Too bad there's no Left Coast version of this for those of us in Cally-forrneeeah.

I think there could be one: what it takes is for there to be a couple of guys with enough desire to actually try it. That's all that happened to produce this.

The thing about Cinesea is it isn't huge, and it isn't fancy, it's just good. It's a small bunch of guys bringing their toys and having a great weekend enjoying them. All that takes is a place and the right small bunch of guys.

We're hoping the small bunch will gradually grow, but not if it sacrifices the "good" part along the way.

It's the power of these Forums to bring together people who probably would never have met each other otherwise. Without that a new film convention wouldn't have a snowball's chance.
