Looks like Kodak has already phased out 100D film. Anyone know where I can purchase new 50 cartridges of Kodak film and what kind. Also looking for best price. Is is going to be Vision3?

hi Dan, Steve Osborne is getting some in stock soon. It is supposed to be 160 ASA reversal film. THE REEL IMAGE is also going to offer a sound striping service...good news for shooters :D

Thanks for the info, Joe. I was thinking about buying empty 50ft. cartridges and loading them if it would save money on film.

What I'm wondering is how much the new cartridges are going to cost. Hopefully they will be in line with the Ektachrome 100D carts, which was around $20.00....

Joe, looks like Kodak's Cinevision3 has replaced 100D. I called a place in New York City that sells it for $17.50 per 50ft. cartridge.

I just spoke with Spectra Video and they informed me Cinevision3 is not projectable. When the 50ft cartridge is processed it goes straight to a digital format. [set5_b/set5_b/toetap05.gif] [set5_b/set5_b/willy_nilly.gif]

Looks like no one is making projectable super 8 film anymore. [set5_b/set5_b/nopity.gif]

Not exactly. There are a couple of choices.

Koday still makes Tri-X which is a fast black and white reversal. It's pretty grainy but does a nice job in low light.

Then there is Velvia 50D which is very good when you can find some.

Velvia 50D is not being made anymore, right?

I'm not sure about that, I've heard multiple stories.

I don't think that Super-8 shooting can go on without a color reversal. Either one will emerge or the show's over.
