My right channel volume control on my type III Gs-1200 has been out of commision for 7 years. Since I run the sound through an external amp, the volume control was not used. Leon Norris has the replacement pots, so 6 years ago I bought one from him. I installed it a couple of months ago and in doing so broke one of the auxiliary pots while trying to separate two circuit boards not knowing you had to release the contacts of said aux. pot frorm the circuit board. A couple of weeks ago my new aux pot arrived and tonight I installed it. I had pry the thin surface layer with the printed description of all the controls where the aux pot was located in order to get to the nut that held the new pot on. After I figured out where all the screws, nuts, washers and knobs went, it was finally back together again. I plugged it in and ran my Goofy test film.......It worked!!

One tip if you attempt this. It is not for the faint of heart. [set5_b/set5_b/rant.gif] [set5_b/set5_b/banghead.gif]

It helps to have the service manual too.
