Don't come across these too often, at least not here in the UK.

Does anyone who might be familiar with this machine know which lamp it takes?

Hi Mike

I have 3 of these, two in very good condition. Although, the sound is very low on both and I have not dug into the possible problems yet. They take a DHJ lamp and the last time I checked they are pricey. I now have a Eumig 810 D Lux that works perfectly for my reg 8 so that has put the Kodak 8's on the back burner.

Bill

Thanks, Bill.

Are those lamps readily available? The seller seems to think the correct lamps are hard to come by.

Mike, I have a couple of these Kodak Sound 8s too. The lamps are very expensive(over $100) if you can find them, but there is another solution to solve the lamp problem. I did a post a couple of years back on performing a lamp mod on the Kodak Sound 8. It's fairly easy and inexpensive plus you get a brighter picture. The new mod lamp cost less than $10 dollars and it's a halogen.

Here's is a link to my post which will show the lamp mod step by step. I got the mod idea from Dino Everette.

One thing this projector will do that the Eumigs will not is allow you to easily remove the film from the film path half way through projecting if you need too. The sound on mine was very good.

Thanks, Dan. I might just bid on this.
