Not ashamed to admit it but I do I do. Hahaha. I bought them both at secondhand stores. In the olden days before DVD I collected Laserdisc and had a very simple Analog sound Pioneer machine. Today I have the last of the Pioneer laserdisc player line and the last Panasonic Laserdisc player produced. I am actually more impressed with the Panasonic. My current Pioneer showes light areas in pink rather than white or blue but the Panasonic is in perfect color. Another thing I've noticed in playing my older discs is the digital soundtracks. Before DVD I remember everyone used to rerecord their super 8 tracks with Laserdisc digital tracks. Once I got ahold of a couple digital sound Laserdisc players I understood why. The uncompressed digital tracks are only on par with Blu-ray sound. The image may not be as good as DVD but the sound is incredible to this day. If anyone else has Laserdisc still, pick up the Princess Bride on Laserdisc Criterion and just try to compare it to DVD. The same is true with almost any dvd versus Laserdisc. The early high rate digital sound output from Laserdisc can't be beat.
Also, there's something about hearing that big disc winding up without previews.

I have a nice player also. I have had a small collection of laser discs for a number of years. About 5 years ago I bought a huge collection from a friend of mine who had a thrift store...about 800 titles for $500....I couldn't pass it up for 67 cents a disc!

So, my house is like my own personal netflixs! I have only watched about 150 of them so far and most are films I have never seen so I have plenty to keep me busy! That is as long as the player works...so far so good.

Plus I picked up some choice titles from you Dan! Thanks!
