Just back from doing a DOOMSDAY DRIVE-IN NIGHT at my friend's beautiful horse farm. PERFECT weather for an outdoor movie with temps in the 68 degree range and no wind--a real break from the scorching temps here in SE Penna. I screened "You Can Beat the A-Bomb", an RKO theatrical release... "Survival Under Nuclear Attack" Castle Films release of an early 1950s CD film..."No Place to Hide" 1980s PBS documentary on the 50s bomb shelter craze and narrated by Martin Sheen..."Duck and Cover" the classic elementary school civil defense film AND "Dr. Strangelove". All in 16mm...all on my inflatable 12' screen.

Wayne, I had my Eiki NT all set up and ready to roll but out came the worst warbled sound imaginable. (This is my primary workhorse projector.) I used the backup projector which was an SNT-O and the show went off without a hitch. Everything looked and sounded great and the 12' inflatable screen is easier to use each time I set it up.

Another question for you Chris:

What do your neighbors think? Any of them ever just come on over to see what the hoopla is about?

My neighbors are used to the shows and are often invited to attend. I usually have a cookout beforehand and folks bring food and stuff so it's always a fun night. The particular show in this post was held at my friend's horse farm out in the country and quite a distance from any neighbors.

The screen looks very impressive. Were people viewing from there vehicles and tuning in the sound on their radios or was it outdoor seating?

Not quite there yet, Dan, with the car radio sound. Folks had blankets and chairs. It was really about as perfect a summer night for movies as I could wish for. Dewpoint was 63 which arrived long after I left.
