Since this seems to be the craze I thought I'd bring it up. In my town, our local cinema just got the equiptment to run 3-D movies after losing tons of revenue advertising 3-D movies but showing them in 2-D. I went to see Men In Black 3D this past weekend and the 3D was good but not yet perfect. I can expect that since I used to run those projectors and know the limitations of them. Does anyone else live in a town that advertises 3D movies but then shows them in 2D or am I the only one in a scam laiden town? (Not scam now since they have the ability but need to work on it a bit.) Oh, for the perfectionalists, the local theater is using Super Simplex projectors with the over/under polarized prints. The films would look better but they are on a flat screen instead of curved which throws off the 3D image on the sides. Little work needs to be done but happy they have 3D here in town now.

I live in a small town. We have one 8 screen theater and they show 3-D in a few of rooms. They show some 2-D stuff sometimes that "can" be in 3-D too. I personally have not even been in ANY "new" 3-D screening at a theater. I take the 2-D options when available.

Our local theater starting a few years ago with My Bloody Valentine (Horrible remake) advertising that they were showing it in 3-D when I knew they didn't have the equiptment to show it and were charging extra to see it in 3-D then showing it in 2-D. That ticked off a lot of people in town. As the 3-D craze started again our theater kept advertising that they were showing in 3-D and charging more for the tickets but not showing the movies in 3-D. That REALLY ticked people off last year. Now they are actually showing 3-D movies with the over-under polarized versions but business has drastically dropped. Usually both the front and back lot of the theater were full on weekends but they turned so many would be customers away that no one goes there anymore. Was wondering if this happened anywhere else. I really enjoyed seeing Men In Black actually in 3-D but there were 3 people in the theater including me. That was on a Sat. night when it should have been full of people. Think our local theater really made a mistake that they can't get out of.
