No, not a typo. I went to my (very) local cinema today in Neath town centre where they screened the 1950's Sci-fi "Earth Versus The Flying Saucers" I have the 400ft cut-down on S8 and the DVD but couldn't resist going to see it on a bigger screen. Others could resist apparently because there were only two of us in the audience - almost a private screening. The projectionist or 'button-pusher' told us about 20 people attended the first showing on Sunday night.

Other films in this series include 'The Man With X-Ray Eyes' featuring Neath-born Ray Milland, '20.000 Leagues Under The Sea' and both versions of 'War Of The Worlds'. The last mentioned films are a double bill one ticket.

Two people?? EVTFS was one of the better SCI FIs of the fifties. Great FXs! The lack of attendance by younger audiences all comes down to the present lack of history being taught in our schools. I can only speak for the US though. I've always been interested in films made before I was born and attribute that to a well rounded dose of history lessons. Or maybe I was here in another life and have a subliminal desire to view them. [set5_b/set5_b/seeya.gif]
