I'm re-posting the entire email I got from Tom Stathes. Many of you know him or know of him. This guy go above and beyond the average film collector & archivist.

Dear Family, Friends and Colleagues,

First I must apologize for not alerting my email list much sooner about this. Various situations prevented me from promoting this news more efficiently in the weeks and days leading up to now.

Anyway, it’s with great honor that I report to you that an hour’s worth of rare silent-era animation from my collection will be airing on Turner Classic Movies, *tonight*, at 12am eastern/9pm pacific. For this very special and long overdue broadcast event, we’ve curated several rare, once-thought-lost, historically significant or just downright funny cartoons produced in New York City between 1907 and 1926. That’s not all, though--TCM host Robert Osborne, with Jerry Beck co-hosting, are also presenting both Fleischer features, a block of UPA cartoons, and The Adventures of Prince Achmed in addition to the early NYC shorts.

EDIT: check your local times, I just doubled checked the line-up and "my" area is starting the segment at 8:00 pm

It’s not to be missed! I hope some or many of you can tune in or set your DVR in time. Important links pertaining to this event below...

The Facebook pre-party has been going on for weeks now! Join in on the fun, and see all the great images and comments that have been posted in anticipation this past month:

I welcome (and hope to receive) any comments, questions, or discussions any of you have...either here, as follow-up posts on my blog entry, or whatever strikes your fancy.

Excitedly and cordially yours,
Tom Stathes

P.S. For those of you in the NYC area, don’t miss the next Tom Stathes Cartoon Carnival! TSCC #11 Halloween Hijinks, a screening of rare and bizarre creepy cartoons in 16mm form, is happening on Tuesday evening, 10/30 at 7:30pm in Brooklyn. Eventbrite info: http://obscura-society-nyc-tom-stathes- ... om/?rank=1 and Facebook event here: http://www.facebook.com/events/187004034758271/?fref=ts or email me for more info. Space is limited!

Hope all the old animation fans caught last nights show :!: There was stuff used that has never been on t.v. and most likely never will again unless they replay the same show.

can I talk you into making me a copy of your recording? My T.V. tuner didn't work in the new PC and that is what I "used" to use to record with.
