You've been collecting for ages, or you're a new collector; doesn't matter. What ONE FILM would you MOST like to add to your collection? It can any of the 8mm gauges or 16mm , 9.5 or whatever. What would be the ONE print to make you sit back and smile and say, "I have it."? I missed a Big Reel sale way way back about 1982 for THE LOVED ONE in 16mm for $99. I missed it again on an eBay auction about 5 years ago. One of these years, I'll get it. What are you looking for?

Gee! I can't pen one film down, but any of the Bogey and Bacall's, especially Dark Passage or The Big Sleep. I'm a sucker for sharp focus super 8 prints. Oh! Wait! How about Now Voyager? It's the quintessential Bette Davis. [set5_b/set5_b/sifone.gif]

Vertigo would be a treat on the big screen. It also has a very moody soundtrack which I happen to have on vinyl. Only trouble is, I get dizzy when I listen to it and my wife's hair changes color.

I have had 5 titles that I would say would be my Holy Grail list. It was not asking much, my list has been filled (for the most part) and even partially sold.
#1 Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. Had 16mm AGFA print, watched it too many times and sold it.
#2 Blues Brothers. Have a 16mm SP print would like LPP but I don't think it will ever happen.
#3 Death Race 2000 Had a nice LPP print, [set5_b/set5_b/sifone.gif] gave it away after watching it way too many times. That wasn't such a good joke as the person who I gave it to kicked my ass in retaliation of gifts. [set5_b/set5_b/nopity.gif]
#4 Eating Raoul Had a great LPP print and sold it to Phil Hill shortly before he died. I know he was looking for that title for years so I hope he got to screen it at least once.
#5 The Warriors. Have a nice LPP S8mm print, would like to get it in 16mm LPP some day...but it will never happen.

For years my Holy Grail was George Romero's Dawn of the Dead, but thanks to Gian's sterling efforts I was able to acquire Dario Argento's full length re-edit. After years of hunting I'm a very happy chap :D

I've just one other Holy Grail to track down - The Elephant Man. Anyone got a copy for sale?!

Nice find indeed. I only know of one other collector who admits to having print. Many collectors who have a print won't tell anyone because they do not want to be given offers for it over and over...

Yes Wayne, I've experienced that, but it'll never be for sale, far too precious to me. Now, if anyone's Holy Grail is that 'rare' 400ft cutdown of The Rose then I might be able to help...

I'd like to find a 16mm print of the Universal-Eight 3-D digest version of IT CAME FROM OUTER SPACE...at a reasonable price of course... [set5_b/set5_b/drool5.gif]

I know it's not 8mm but my favorite films and holy grail is either Romeo and Juliet in 16mm IB tech, have 500' of it so I know it's out there, or the 10 Commandments complete on 16mm technicolor.
