What is the Model number of your Mansfield, and WHICH 8mm Format is your film?

Mansfield Holiday Model M-1000.

I have no use for it since it won't run the film, do you want it?

I don't know how to tell about the film, it has no sound just the movie.

The reason I asked about the "format" is there are TWO different 8mm films... and if you are looking for a projector to run your films you NEED TO KNOW WHICH TYPE THEY ARE.
Does your film have holes down the side which are opposite the LINES dividing the pictures on the film, or are they opposite the MIDDLE of the pictures on the film?

A projector for one type will NOT run the other: it will give the symptoms you describe.

I am sorry that I don't know more.
I am just an old retired accountant that wants to view movies I took in
France (1960-1963) and our wedding movies (1963).

The holes on the film are on both sides of the film.
I don't understand the statement listed below, I blame it on that I am an old man.

"Does your film have holes down the side which are opposite the LINES dividing the pictures on the film, or are they opposite the MIDDLE of the pictures on the film?"

My guess is that I'm about the same age (76).

The film you describe ( holes down BOTH sides of the film) is actually 16mm film, not 8mm. So if the film is 16 mm wide you need a 16mm projector, and it must be a silent one because a sound one will not accept the film. Measure the WIDTH of the film with a ruler and you will then know what to look for. Once you know this, there are a number of people on here from your country (I'm in the UK) who will be able to help: maybe even somebody local to you.
Good luck

Martin

Martin - Thank you for your reply and help.

I messed up.
I forgot what the film looked like so I went and got a roll out.
It only has holes down ONE side.
I think the holes are on the LEFT side of the film.
I am sorry for my error.
