I phoned Taylor Reel Corp. and they still make these blue plastic 1600' super 8 reels. They are $10 each with a minimum of 23 reels per carton. They do ship internationally too. I will be glad to buy 2 reels also.

Here is one of mine.

I will note two reels for each one of you. Dan, I will see if they can arrange for the four reels for you and Ed can be taken out of the box and shipped to you directly.

I have been charging 15$ pr reel to cover costs, but I won't do so for the two of you, since this forum tipped me about it in the first place :)

Christian, how about I drive over to Taylor Reel and pick them up, then remove four reels and ship the rest to you via Priority International Mail at cost. You would have to pay Taylor Reels and I would subtract $40 from your shipping cost. I would sell two of the four to Ed for $10 each.

Sounds like a plan, Dan :)

I will contact Tayloreel and let them know (I have a pending order of one carton). Hopefully, I will be making the order in a week or so, once I get the payments from the other collectors who have purchased reels.

Hey to Dan,
Do those 1500' reels fit on an Elmo ST1200? If so and if you can get them from Taylorreel then I know I'm late into this conversation but I wouldn't mind having a few of them. I would buy at least 4 of them.

Erik, that will be Christian's call. He initiated the possible purchase of the 24 case.

They will fit the Elmo ST-1200 and GS-1200. They're the same diameter as a 1200' reel, but have a smaller hub, hence 1600'.

Dan, if they'll fit an Elmo 1200 machine I wouldn't mind have a couple of them myself. Price isn't a problem. Hate to chime in late but I didn't know they were being produced by anyone.

No problem, Erik! :) Dan, can you remove an additional four from the box and further deduct from shipping?

In case anyone is still watching this topic I was keen to obtain some of the 1600ft reels - I bought a Derann print of the Jolson Story that showed up mounted on two of the 1600 footers which I couldn't play the whole way through - and I'm not set up to respool the print - however.. I'm since not so sure they're a good idea (nor the 1200ft reels actually) as the load on the motor - particularly if you rewind the film via the projector - appears to be too strenuous? - Any thoughts?
