This is a 400' reel of three Cine Art Production films from the silent era. It is entitled "Dance Series" It has a music sountrack. Each film pictures semi nude gals performing a dance with a theme. i.e. Hawaiian, silor, Egyptian. Pretty funny stuff.

Recieved print. It is pretty funny what some people considered risque' back in the day. These look like priints used in jukebox adult peep machines back in the 40's. I can't tell when this print was made though since I don't recognize the soundtrack format of a reversed single line soundtrack. Has to be an early reprint. Probably 50's. Still fun to watch. Thanks.

Chances are this print was made and sold by the old Home Movie Wonderland back in the 60's or early 70's, and that they added the music. Every silent film they copied had the same track of 1920's jazz records on it. Niles Cinema Products also copied the same track and used it on all their silent films too. (Don't run more than two reels in a row or you'll drive your audience nutz!) The original films probably date back to the earliest days of 16mm; late 20's/early 30's; and were originally sold in silent form. (How come I know this? I have an identical print of the same reel! Ain't it a hoot?)

Hey Jeff, this reel to me looks like the late 20's with a clear jazz track as you mentioned. I had a hard time running just this reel since most of my audience was laughing like crazy. Not sure it was the intended response but all of us are over 35 and we all thought it was a hoot. What was obscure to some back then is hilarious now.
