Post subject:  Elmo Problem

I have an Elmo 16-AL, this problem does not happen all the time. Sometimes it will at the very beginning of a feature then stop others will do it every once in awhile. The bulb seems to flicker on & off real quick. At first I noticed that if the projector was plugged in to an outlet that was running other things it would do it, but that must have been coincidence because its doing it more frequent. Any ideas? Thanks, Ernie

Hey welcome to the forum.
The Elmo 16mm is an extremely reliable machine. My first suggestion is just to replace the lamp. They are only about 20 bucks on the available market. Second suggestion is that you remove the lamp and look at the pins. The connecting pins are coated in silver and tarnish with age. you can scrape off the tarnish with a blade of some sort. If you still have problems then you have a broken solder connection along the line. This model connects directly with the power source and if it fails to send power to the lamp then the entire projector would stop at the same time. If the projector keeps running then you have a problem either with the wires connecting points or the lamp. Everything on this projector is an easy fix though and once you check everything I'm sure you'll find an easy solution.
