How many of you actually have the rare Eiki one inch lens? I have two very nice Eiki projectors(slot load and auto load), but, never use them because I do not have the one inch lens.

have you ever thought about using an Omer adapted lens for your EIKI's?

Yes. I bought one several years back but, the image did no focus evenly. When the center was in focus, the corners were not. That was Omer's super 8 lens in an adapter sleeve.

I was fortunate to get the 25mm (1 inch) lens some years ago. It is in very good condition and cost me £35.

Mal, was that the Eiki brand? If so, what a deal. If you can find one now they are in the $300 plus range.

EEEWWW

My adapter was made for a small barrel B&H 1" & 5/8" somco lenses.

I have another 25mm lens & adapter I don't use much anymore that you are welcome to try Dan. It was part of a matching pair I used when running back to back machines.

Sorry for the delay in responding, Dan.
The 25mm lens I have is a Super Sankor-16 f:1.5
Although it is a relatively 'slow' lens at f:1.5, the projector has a 2 blade shutter and 250w lamp so light transmission isn't a problem and the screen images are very sharp.

I bought it from Barry Attwood [Independent 8] when he used to have tables at the BFCCs.
I could have walked away with it for nothing as it was on the outside edge of one of his tables and Barry was distracted watching some S8mm at the time. (and yes I did tell him what could have happened!)

What I'm using on my Eiki SL-0 is a B&H 1.5 inch lens with adapter from Urbanski Film that increased the film size about 30%. It was expensive but the image is much more clear than the stock lens and even across the image with a flat screen. Keep in mind the basic rules of projection. If you are going to zoom the image, the screen needs to be curved to match the lens. Otherwise you get a focused image in the middle or sides but not even. Learned that with 35mm.

Hmmm....well, that's something I wasn't at all aware of after all these years.

It would explain why I can never get even focus no matter which zoom lens I use.

I wonder if everybody is actually aware of this, as when I've posed the uneven focus question in the past, no one has ever mentioned this.
