Is there any focus or framing controls on this model?

You can focus it by turning the lens by hand. There is a framing knob on there, but I'm not sure where it is. This plays magnetic and optical sound prints. It looks gorgeous! Buy it! I have one that I use exclusively for Scopitones. Find a Kodak variable lens and you can throw a larger image. Once you experience a Technicolor scopitone with mag track you will be hooked.

Thinking about it. So far, no reply from the seller regarding whether or not it's actually in working order.

[set5_b/set5_b/iamwithstupid.gif] Everyone needs a Pageant in their line-up. [set5_b/set5_b/iagree.gif]

I agree too. However, over here in the UK, they are extremely rare.

This one is a bust as the seller tells me it needs a transformer which he doesn't have yet??

The description says very good condition. It needs a transformer? That's not very good condition.

It's been a long time since I last ran a Kodak Pageant (love 'em though...) and the one I had was a later AV-126 (top mounted reel arms) but on that one the framing control was a small black knob which stuck up vertically thru the lamp housing, next to the screw that held the lamp housing in place. Hope this helps.

Sorry to be so long giving a reply to Michael.
It is important to buy a Kodak Pageant that is designed for European mains and frequency. I have a model AV-12M6-L which runs on 50 hertz and UK mains without an external transformer.
In addition to optical prints it also plays, and records, on magnetic stripe film.
The lamps used are 240volt, either the A1/59 1000 watt, or the A1/9 which is 750 watt.
Here is a link to a site which shows this exact same model.
