Reminds me of the line line from Planes, Trains, and Automobiles. John Candy: "Why are you holding my hand?" Steve Martin: "Where is your other hand?" Candy: "Between two pillows." Martin: "Those aren't pillows!!" Both men leap from the bed and start talking about football. [set5_b/set5_b/smilielol5.gif]

i used an elf eiki 16mm machine with a 250watt q.i lamp for almost twenty years and i thought it was great, that was until yesterday when i bought the elf ex3000n xenon at the group 9.9 get-together at harpenden, hertfordshire, england.to be honest it just completely blew my q.i lamped-machine away.i mean i thought the the q.i was bright but it is just like a candle compared to the xenon.the black and white features now really are black and white, not sepia.i would never go back to the q.i again ,in fact i am now ashamed i used it in the past for showing films to a fee-paying audience

I have to reinstate that xenon lamped projectors aren't that easy to come by here in the states and ad a blue tint to the projected image. Also they are meant for long-throw projection. Most of us home users use Halogen or Incandescent lamps. They are cheap, and adapt to the projectors without modifications. Also, at less than 30' the lens is more important than the lamp.
