Is a 16mm original print also known as a print down? |

My understanding is that a print-down is printed directly from a 35mm negative, Dan. It would probably be the best quality original 16mm you can get. Obviously then, not every 16mm original is a print-down. |

Is it safe to say, then, that the prints that are scary sharp are likely print-downs? |

I wouldn't say so - I've seen razor sharp originals. |
