Hey Mike,
I know we've discussed this at length but mine simply does not have a back sprocket. Didn't want to bang horns with you on it but mine works very well and I've watched countless features and shorts with no problems at all. Is there a chance that what I have is something different? The identity plate says it is an SL-O machine but it doesnt seem to be the same thing you all are dealing with. Were there experimental projectors made before they went out of business?

Not sure, Erik, but I am interested. We're not banging horns here at all - I'm just interested in what you may have there.
:D

I have slot load Eiki...Bell & Howell 3580.

I have used it for about three years now and I haven't had any issues. Although, it does have an automatic shut down function if it jams and that has happened once on a film I was watching...but it had a lot of splices in it and some of them not very good. This machine runs best with splice free films. Mine has a rear sprocket and the lower section of the film path isn't the easiest to clean either! It is nice to load and unload. :D

Well, the new take up reel belt has solved the problem. No more chewed films. No big ass bat needed either. [set5_b/set5_b/smash.gif] The Eiki is an EX3500N.

That's good Dan...there is nothing worse than wondering in the back of your mind if your projector is going to start munching....I try not to think of such things!

The Eiki I use is an SL-0 so it is a much different projector than you have Dan. Sorry I couldn't help on that one since mine ran tonight for a couple hours and I haven't had a problem since I got it. I've recently repaired a B&H autoload that I think was developed only to destroy films and I hate it. It's going in the trash but my Eiki will always be my go-to when it comes to watching films.
