Dave,

Our very own Dino Everette is a quite the 9.5 collector. Maybe he can chime in and offer some advice.

How available are titles in this gauge?

Hello Dan

I will send a message to Dino, im not really into 9.5 but was given this machine and it really is in excellent conditiom. it will come in handy for my work as I do audio visual transfer for a living so its a welcome addition to the family of machines that I have got.

At the monent I am looking for a good super 8 telecine projector (Elmo TRV s8 would be good) or a aerial image multiplexer.

Take care

Dave

Dave I can't remember if I ever received an email from you or not, but I know I have been behind on lots of emails so I'll post a few tidbits here.....The LUX was released in 3 models the YA, YC and the rarest YD...The YA is the least desirable to have if you plan on using it because it has a tightly fixed gate that is made of Mazac and will deteriorate and it has a smaller fan for the lamp area.... The YC has a solid metal gate that opens a little wider so it is easier to load films and a larger fan and lamp area, then the final release was the YD of which there are very few. These are the best because they are basically the YC only they have a metal gate that is removable for easy cleaning.....The LUX was available throughout the 1930's and was one of the last of the notched projectors. It works very well, but if the notching mechanism goes out of sync it is a tricky fix unless you are very familiar with the machine...... The worst thing about the LUX was it was designed to use 2 different bulbs (a 50w for notched titles and a 200w for running titles) and usually people either mixed them up or tried to get brighter pictures for their notched films and ruined quite a number of old 9.5 films....I love my LUX YD..... You can tell which model you have by turning it over and looking at what letters are painted in white on the bottom grill.....
